Around the globe, various organizations are setting ambitious targets to plant and conserve trees as a key climate resilience strategy. As a prominent state example, Maryland’s legislature passed the Tree Solutions Now Act of 2021, which calls for 5 million additional trees to be planted by 2030, with 500,000 of them targeted to urban, underserved areas. This Fall’s newsletter highlights a few of the partnership initiatives in our watershed that aim to significantly scale up tree planting and maintenance efforts in the years ahead.

Delaware has committed to planting and maintaining trees throughout the the state. Over the last year Delaware has joined the 1t.org tree planting initiative along with creating the Tree for Every Delawarean Initiative.
